Welcome

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Bioengineering, under the advisement of George Stetten, M.D., Ph.D. I received dual B.S. degrees in Bioengineering and Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003, and a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. I am currently planning my doctoral dissertation defense for September 2007.

My field of research is medical image analysis, where I use my machine learning and artificial intelligence specialization to design automated image analysis software systems and algorithms in the Visualization and Image Analysis Lab (VIALab). My research interests include automated and semi-automated image segmentation and registration algorithms, machine learning approaches to clinical imaging problems, visualization and user interaction in clinical imaging systems, computer vision, and medical device design.
